Kakadu Trails

In collaboration with Inspiring Place, I designed a comprehensive track manual for Kakadu National Park, written and guided by Inspiring Place for Parks Australia. The manual provides Parks Australia with practical tools to ensure walking tracks are managed sustainably while delivering safe and enjoyable visitor experiences. 

* Inspiring Place received an Award of Excellence for Tourism Projects in the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (Tasmania) Awards for the Kakadu National Park Walking Strategy 2016 and the Kakadu National Park Track Manual 2016.  An Award of Excellence is the highest honour a project can receive and only one is given in any category.   

The Understorey recognises the Palawa/Pakana Peoples of Lutruwita as the traditional custodians of the land and sea in which we live, work and explore. The Understorey respects Elders past and present, and extends that respect to all First Nation people who continued the tradition of art-making for thousands of generations.

The Understorey is committed to continuously learning and deeply valuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and culture.
